Where Hope Comes From by Nikita Gill

Later today we’ll be hearing more about the roadmap Boris has planned for us in the strange journey we’ve all been on. I’ve felt deeply unsettled all weekend and as a result I’ve woken up to tackle homeschooling feeling restless and exhausted. From what’s been said in the press so far though it does sound like he has plan to lead us slowly and safely back to some normality. I really hope so.

📖

Today I wanted to recommend a book that I read last week and I know that I will pick up again and again; Where Hope Comes From by @nikita_gill . This is a book of affirmations and poems. It is a book that has made me cry, it has soothed my soul and it is has reminded me that I am resilient and it has made me feel hopeful.

📖

For the last year The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse by Charlie Mackesay has sat by my bed and I’ve dipped in and out of it whenever I’ve felt a little low. It’s now joined by this beautiful book and I can see myself reading this one again and again. For such a small book it really has had such a big impact on me.

📖

It’s impossible to pick a favourite poem from this book as they are all so special but two that I loved were “Love in a Time of Coronavirus” and “Hindsight”.

📖

This is the first book of Nikita Gill’s that I’ve picked up but it won’t be the last. I have to thank @rosie_tinted_books for highlighting it, I feel it’s a book that I needed to read.

📖

Have a good day 💕
