This Time Next Year by Sophie Cousins

Let me introduce you to the book that appears to have lifted me out of my reading slump and given me my reading mojo back; This Time Next Year by @sophie_cousens I picked it up on Saturday morning and had finished it by the early hours of Sunday.

I had been saving this one for December as I thought it would be a festive read, it is about New Year Eve but I think it’s actually a really good read for right now.

This Time Next Year is a fun and heartwarming love story (see picture 2 for synopsis). Minnie is a really lovely character, she’s somebody you can totally imagine being friends with. Minnie believes that she is jinxed as every New Year’s Day bad things happen to her until she meets Quinn; the boy who was born just minutes before she was at the same hospital.

I felt like I got a little more from this one than just a love story; I really liked the storyline with Minnie’s best friend and the business they run together. There are also some really lovely scenes between Minnie and Quinn’s mums which really added to it as well.

I’ve seen that Sophie has a new book coming out October next year and I’m really looking forward to reading it. I loved the way she told this story and The Suitcase also sounds like it will be a brilliant read.

What are you reading and loving at the moment?
