The Push by Ashleigh Audrain

Last September, I read The Push by @ashleyaudrain and I absolutely blown away by it. I knew it would be in my top books for 2020 and I think it’s one of the best debut novels that I’ve read in a long time.
Ok before I get too excited let me share the synopsis with you:
The arrival of baby Violet was meant to be the happiest day of my life. But as soon as I held her in my arms I knew something wasn't right.
I had always known that the women in my family aren't meant to be mothers.
My husband Fox says I'm imagining it. He tells me I'm nothing like my own mother, and that Violet is the sweetest child.
But she's different with me. Something feels very wrong.
This is such a deeply unsettling, utterly gripping and intense read. I love books that get me questioning characters and situations, with The Push I didn’t know who to trust or what to believe. It kept me guessing throughout and I have to say I though the ending was brilliant.
The Push is out today and it’s one I would highly recommend, I also think it would be an incredible book club choice as there’s so much going on with it. Ashley Audrain is an author I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on, I loved her writing and hope this will be the first of many books by her.
How does it sound to you, will you be reading The Push?
Have a great day 💕
