The Funny Thing About Norman Foreman by Julietta Henderson

Recently I’ve felt like I’ve really needed some light, fun and uplifting reads. This weekend I finished The Funny Thing About Norman Foreman by @juliettahendersonauthorand it was just what I needed.
For the full synopsis swipe over to see picture two. In short this is the story of an eleven year old boy, Norman whose world falls apart when his best friend suddenly dies. Norman and Jax had been working on their dream to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as a comedy duo, however when Jax dies Norman decides to do it on his own.
I was fully expecting this to be a novel where I loved the main character which I did but there were so many great other great characters as well. I loved Sadie, Norman’s mum, she was flawed but so honest and real and I just really liked her. Leonard was also a great character.
There’s so much I enjoyed about this, it very much felt like the right book at the right time for me. It kind of reminded me a little of the movies Little Voice when Norman performs and Little Miss Sunshine.
Definitely one that I’d recommend. The Funny Thing About Norman Foreman is published April next year. Thank you so much @susanmarie80 for sending it to me, I really enjoyed it.
