Love After Love by Ingrid Persaud

Yesterday I finished reading Love After Love by @ingpersaud_author and I thought it was a brilliant read. See picture 2 for synopsis. It was recommended to me by Chantal from @thelittlebookshopcookham. Thank you so much for the brilliant recommendation! This evening Chantal’s lovely bookshop is hosting an online event with Ingrid which I’m really looking forward to.
📖
There is a lot going on with this book, each chapter is told from the perspective of the three characters; Betty, Solo and Mr Chetan and each character has a lot to reveal. I’m going to try and be a bit vague here to avoid any spoilers. However there are some themes that if feel need mentioning and so I’ll put some CW points in the comments.
📖
It’s a story of a family who are pulled apart when a long hidden secret is accidentally revealed. There are times when it is an absolutely heartbreaking read, but there is also a lot of warmth and wit as well. Ultimately it is a story about family, love and forgiveness and it is so beautifully told, she pulls the stories together so seamlessly.
📖
Set in Trinidad, I loved learning about the culture but oh my goodness the food descriptions just sounded incredible, it made me wish Mr Chetan would cook for me!
📖
Love After Love by @ingpersaud_author is out now and it really is a great read. There are still some tickets available for this evening’s event so if you’d like to hear Ingrid talk about her wonderful book head over to @thelittlebookshopcookham
