Just Like The Good Old Days
I have quite simply had the best week! For the first time in forever I really felt like life got back to normal for me. I have been out and about, meeting authors, publishers and bookstagrammers oh and I even had a really fancy lunch. Here’s what I’ve been up to.
On Monday, I was invited to the Bookbar, the cutest little bookshop in London (www.bookbaruk.com) where Bonnie Garmus

was talking about her brilliant book Lessons in Chemistry. You might remember that a couple of weeks ago I did an Insta Live with Bonnie but it somehow got deleted and I was so disappointed, well meeting her in person made up for it. She is lovely and such an interesting and inspiring woman. If you have the opportunity to go and see her I would highly recommend it - oh and of course I you have to read the book its fabulous.
It seems that for me bookish events are like buses, you wait 2 years for one and then two come along at once.
On Tuesday it was the Publication Party for Beth O’Leary’s new book, The No Show. So I headed back into London and met my husband for lunch at La Gocchia

(https://lagoccia.co.uk/) in Covent Garden. It is such a pretty restaurant and the food was amazing so definitely worth checking out - as a treat as it was quite expensive.
Being back at the Quercus offices was just amazing. It was so lovely to see so many bookstagrammer friends and hang out on the rooftop (although not to close to the edge for me, I just can’t handle heights). I got to have a little chat with Beth

which was lovely, I feel like I’ve been on a real journey with her as she was the first author I met when I started bookstagramming. I also got to meet and have a great chat with Lucy Diamond, whose book Anything Could Happen is a brilliant read.
Now for the long weekend, Roddy is all ready with bunny ears,

we’ve got lots of chocolate and we’re so ready to celebrate with our family and friends. I hope you have a great week. I’ll see you next Saturday
