Believe Me

Believe me when I say, Believe Me is one of the most twisty books I have ever read! It is an absolutely brilliant psychological thriller that kept me guessing right up until the end. Having read JP Delaney's previous book, The Girl Before, which I really enjoyed, I was keen to see whether this would be as good.

Claire is an ambitious British drama student in New York. Acting jobs are few and far between so when her agent sets her up with law firm who hire her to entrap straying husbands she is glad to have found work that doesn’t require a green card.

When one of her targets becomes the number one suspect in a murder investigation, Claire agrees to help the police by trying to lure him into a confession.

To say this book is full of twists and turns is an understatement, it had me totally gripped throughout, I actually felt exhausted when I turned the last page. It is a very dark story, with a lot of references to sexual violence throughout, which could be upsetting to some people. There is so much going on in this book, that even though I was racing through it, I did have to really concentrate as the plot shifts so often.

So in answer to my question, it is definitely as good as The Girl Before although it is much darker. I can't wait to read his next book which is out later on this year.
